  Took my puppy Arya in and the staff was so nice. Arya had a great time and they made her feel at ease. They have great prices too. I am going to have my mom take her dogs here now.

  I would NEVER recommend Tarpon Animal to anyone. I brought my beloved cat there to be treated. The staff initially appeared to be very sympathetic to me and my cat. The health problem was misdiagnosed. When I returned to the office to discuss my options, the doctor stated that my cat would suffer. He proceeded to explain their procedure of putting an animal to sleep, starting with sedative to relax the pet before the final shot is administered to stop the heart. When I decided it was time, I made the appointment . This was a painful, difficult decision to make. My husband and I brought our cat in for the appointment. The doctor neglected to give my cat a sedative. My cat was scared and screaming as an assistant tried to hold him down and the doctor repeatedly kept sticking a needle into my cat. My husband and I were extremely upset. When I asked the doctor why he hadn't sedated my cat, he looked at the assistant and said were we supposed to do that first? After many attempts, the doctor successfully found a vein and my beloved cat was dead. The final minutes of his life were unnecessarily sad, traumatic and sad - for my cat, my husband and me. The doctor and the assistant left the room. My husband and I were left alone in the treatment room with our cat. We were very obviously very upset. After minutes passed and no one came in, I went out to find someone. I was told that we could proceed to pay the bill. I had to ask for a box to carry the body of my cat. A woman brought me a beat up card board box that supplies were delivered in. I wrote a letter to Tarpon Animal Hospital but never received a phone call or written response. Do not use this animal hospital if you value or care about your pet!
